G raduates of this department with training in both natural and social sciences have a wide range of careers in business, government, state agencies, local councils, consultancy, non-governmental organizations, urban and city planning, regional planning and development, multi-national companies, private planning firms, environmental protection, housing management, retail management, research organization, teaching in secondary, general, technical and professional schools, administrative staff of universities and the pursuit of a variety of post-graduate programmes. Geographers have also made successful careers in the army given their skills in terrain analysis and a good knowledge of the diversified environments over which military campaigns have been fought.
